If you're building a resto-mod, fully-customized or pro-street vehicle, or you simply think General Motors left room for improvement and want to update your classic, Lectric Limited's RestoMod Series (TM) Wiring Harness Systems is a popular alternative to original design wiring.

But is the RestoMod Series (TM) wiring right for you? Ultimately, that will be for you to decide. But here are some guidelines:

- Do you want the flexibility to route your wiring the way you want?

- Do you want to hide your wiring, and need longer-than-factory wire to do so?

- Do you want original equipment style connectors and terminals for aftermarket gauges or instrument panel?

- Do you want an updated fuse block with room to add more circuits to connect other devices?

- Do you want to save money by cutting most of the wire to the length you need, crimping most of the terminals yourself, and taping the harness to suit your needs? (Detailed instructions included. Harness tape and convoluted tubing not included.)

If you've answered YES to all of the questions above, then our RestoMod Series (TM) wiring system is an option for you. But please read the information below to be certain.

Our RestoMod Series (TM) Wiring System is the simplest way to update your classic vehicle's wiring. In basic terms, this system allows you to rewire your car or truck with the customized upgrades you want installed. Upgrades may include: newer steering column, H.E.I., alternator, aftermarket heater & A/C system, reproduction tail light assembly, updated gauges, etc.

Working with major equipment manufacturers such as Autometer (TM), Classic Industries (TM), Dakota Digital (TM), Stewart Warner (TM) and VDO (TM) gauge systems, Raingear (TM) wiper systems, Hot Rod Air (TM) and Vintage Air (TM) heat and air conditioning systems, Flaming River (TM), and Ididit (TM) (just to name a few), we have engineered a kit that easily interfaces with aftermarket accessories as well as reproduced original taillight, headlight, and running light assemblies. In keeping with the design of this RestoMod Series (TM) kit, there is still complete flexibility in engine compartment and body wire routing for the custom touch. As with every RestoMod Series (TM) kit, only the best components and detailed installation instructions are utilized in building this most complete kit offered.

This system has been designed with the power capabilities necessary to run (but does not include) separate options. Some of these options may include power windows, stereo systems, air conditioning, rear window defogger, power windows, power top, cruise control, computerized fuel injection / ignition system, ABS / ride control, other computerized systems, etc.

NOTE: This wiring system is for a base-model vehicle and (unless noted) does not include the wiring for options noted above. The wiring for those options should be included by the manufacturer of those options, should you decide to add them.

Our RestoMod Series (TM) Wiring Systems are not a fits-all system. They are custom manufactured for a specific year & model vehicle. They are a complete vehicle wiring system (front -to- rear), designed with the foresight, engineering and flexibility to bring your car's electrical system up-to-date.

This is not a plug & play system and will require some assembly on your part. Detailed instructions are included. When you install this system, YOU will determine the routing of the wires, and cut & terminate the wires to fit your needs. Installation of this wiring system will require the removal of all of your original wiring, as your original wiring will not directly connect to this system.

With the exception of some small optional harnesses, this system is a front-to-rear harness system (not individual harnesses as with our Original Design Series (TM) wiring).

This wiring system is designed for upgraded/modified vehicles. Consequently, our RestoMod Series (TM) system:

- does NOT include resistance wire so they will NOT support a point-type ignition system, but can be used with an HEI or hi-performance ignition system.

- does NOT support ANY ammeters. Only voltmeters are supported. If you have an ammeter, you can convert it to a voltmeter or use an aftermarket voltmeter.

- does NOT support a stock generator, voltage regulator, or externally regulated alternator. They will only support an internally regulated Delco SI Series or self-exciting 1-wire alternator. Adapters are available for use with other internally regulated alternators or newer-style GM alternators, as shown in our catalog.

Note: If your goal is to restore or keep your vehicle to a factory-original configuration or to replace only a portion of your original wiring, we highly recommend our Original Design Series (TM) wiring harnesses.

Look at all the great items/features included in this "1953-62 Corvette RestoMod Series (TM) Wiring System".

- Replacement headlight switch with internal 30-amp circuit breaker, fixed length shaft, and 53-56 style knob (58-62 owners can use their original knob and shaft assembly).

- Standard turn signal flasher, hazard flasher, and horn relay mounted on harness.

- NEW compact ATO-Style fuse panel that is fully encased in a closed box assembly with cover lid and mounts on the inside firewall in the stock location (mounting hardware included). The fuse cover/lid is labeled on the inside identifying all circuits by description and their respective fuse ratings. All high amperage output circuits incorporate the same superior spring steel reinforced terminals that are used in our Highway Series kits.

- Harness is laid out and formed to allow for nearly all after market accessories such as; electric gauge packages, heat and air conditioning systems, updated wiper systems, etc.

- Many original switch connector bodies.

- Steering column connectors can plug directly into most aftermarket steering columns or stock 1963-62 Corvette columns using the adapter and terminals included in the kit.

- Correct original style under dash courtesy lamp assemblies are included.

- Instrument Cluster wiring is designed with a "cluster harness disconnect" system for easy service and assembly. Original terminals and connectors are provided for stock cluster connections. The system will also connect into most popular aftermarket gauges such as CLASSIC INSTRUMENTS, DAKOTA DIGITAL, AUTOMETER, VDO, and others.

- Rear body harness assembly plugs into the main harness at the left kick panel location and our longer leads allow for stock or custom routing of the wires. Rear body wiring includes stop and tail light lead wires along with dis-connectable tail lamp extensions that include the proper "twist in" style tail lamp sockets. A license plate lamp lead and socket, as well as fuel tank sender and dedicated sender ground leads are also included. (An optional backup light kit that includes lead wires and sockets is also available)

- New floor dimmer switch is provided for ease of installation. Wire length and connection accommodate original floor mount dimmer switch.

- Engine wiring includes feeds for coil, tach, water temperature, oil pressure, electric choke, and electric speedometer (if needed). A heavy gauge alternator feed and fusible link are also included for any typical high output 1-wire or internally regulated alternator. Connectors supplied for power and tach leads for GM style H.E.I. distributors along with various oil and temp senders.

- Front lighting includes extra long leads that can be routed for stock or optional appearances. All head light, parking light, and directional light leads, along with a switched trigger wire for an electric fan relay (usually recommended with AC) are provided. Mating terminals and connectors are also provided for you to complete your custom installation.

- New headlight bucket extension harnesses that include the grommets, clamps, and loom are also included. Services both dual and quad headlight systems.

- New ignition switch with indexed connector included.
