An Air Conditioning Thermal Limiter is a fuse-like device that protects the "Low-Refrigerant Protection System" circuit on GM vehicles and is designed to stop the A/C compressor clutch operation when low refrigerant pressure is sensed.

Sometimes an inoperable A/C system can be fixed by simply replacing a faulty thermal limiter.
